King Bey is everything

A homeboy of mine calls us Beybots.  Yes, I love Beyonce for so many reasons outside of looks and hair. I really love her hair. But these new joints she dropped just shortly before The Mrs. Shawn Carter Show World Tour are simply put, fucking badass.

Bow Down sounds like an attitude of 50,000 angry bitches stomping down the street surrounding an elephant carriage holding Beyonce as she sings. That’s what it sounds like. Basic terms to describe such a song would be upbeat, fast, powerful, independent. I find I prefer I Been On more. As far as I’m concerned she is a pop culture relic now. Someone who may been even worthy of baby naming. There is a girl out there somewhere who will name her daughter, Beyonce. If you don’t believe me then well, you’ll see.

Regardless,  Beyonce is someone that I now see as grand as the Chaka Khans and Whitney Houstons of yesteryear. As I’ve gotten older and gotten over my childish distaste for Destiny’s Child, I find that I really enjoy her music like the woman I see and know in my mind.

The boost that I gain from listening to her music gives me a chance to remember that I really do enjoy what I see as a softer side of womanhood compared to the harsher realities that I choose to see.  Meaning, once I stopped trying to verify my gangsta in public I remembered that I liked that feminine shit. It’s sensual and seductive when done right. Especially if it’s paired with a bit of a gritty, tough attitude.

I had to have a baby in order to realize that.  In my world now, only real bitches can handle that responsibility.

Therefore, bow down, bitches.  She been on.
